Tactical types of boxers

Each athlete is unique. Boxers differ in their fighting style and tactics. Professional athletes who correctly use combinations of techniques are distinguished by their ability to quickly and accurately analyze the situation and determine the further vector of the fight. In each case, they use certain styles, based on the individual manner of the opponent and the situation in the ring, which changes in the course of the fight. Flexibility and distinction of tactics largely depend on the boxer’s technique, although everyone is very different in their individual traits. Among all the variety, we can distinguish 12 main styles of fighting in the ring.

The first type: the “pacemaker”.
Such a fighter tries to approach his opponent suddenly in the ring. He acts fast, choosing the middle or long distance. When you fight with a “pace fighter” you should try to find an inconvenient distance for him, at the same time keeping his pace and forcing him to miss, so that he gets tired.

The second type: the “strongman”.
As a rule, this type of fighter tries to keep a middle or short distance, giving out blows of circular type. He constantly presses on, trying to squeeze his opponent. Because of this, however, the defense remains weakened.

To defeat such a boxer it is enough to wait out his attacks, to weaken, to keep unaccustomed to him distance.

The third type: the distance fight.
He tries to attack from a long distance, after a lunge to return back to a long distance.

To defeat this type it is necessary to keep a middle and short distance, pushing on the opponent to squeeze him to the border. It is important to move actively, close to the defense, counterattack.

Type four: counterattack style
The base of action is the counterattack. He waits for the opponent to act and attacks back.

It is advantageous to hold the middle and short distances in the fight against such athletes. Trying to do everything possible to fight at his disadvantage. This would leave the fighter without the advantage of a retaliatory attack, which is applied from a distance.

Fifth type: combinations.
The main advantage of such a fighter is the use of a large number of combinations of blows during the fight. First, he figures out the effectiveness of the actions. If any combination becomes successful, he uses it during the fight, disguising it before attacking.

It is important to identify this trait in the opponent, and then start using blows that dampen his attack. It is necessary to stick to the uncomfortable tempo of the fight for the opponent.

The sixth type: “Knockouts”.
The mainstay of the fight of such boxers is a strong knockout attack. The fighting style can vary, but the main feature is the sudden crushing blow.

Their fighting style is quite simple, they always try to get to their crowning blow. Therefore it is necessary to keep an unfamiliar distance to your opponent, always change the distance, keep the defense and avoid strong blows from his side.

The seventh type: the offensive “knockout”
The offensive style is not just offensive, but the right approach. Several types of attacks are used in combat:

Body stiffening to keep away from a retaliatory attack;

Defensive style with offense.

The method of defense is anticipation. You need to force your opponent to miss, to change the distance.

Eighth type: “Knockouts” using counterattack.
This type of boxer uses offense to start a fight. However, they are often unable to defend themselves after their attack.

When fighting this type of fighter you should often change the distance from short to medium and counterattack.

The ninth type: the middle and short distance
In a fight with a boxer you have to fight at a long distance, not letting him get close. Prevent counterattack at a distance. If you shorten the distance you will have to go into a clinch. Fight at a distance.

Counterattack is fought from a distance. Enemy is met by single and series attacks.

Tenth type: left-handed.
Fighting tactics may vary, but a trait that is evident in all fighters of this type is the effective use of the left hand.

When fighting them you have to know how to attack with the right hand to the head. That part of them is less protected. At the same time, it is important to always be ready for a strong left hand strike.

The eleventh type: the individual style
There are quite a few boxers with their own distinctive style. Despite their uniqueness, many of these fighters became champions: K. Clay, V. Ageev, etc.

The twelfth type: the universal.
Probably the most successful type. They can combine almost all styles, hold all distances. The fights of such fighters are interesting and impress the audience.
