THE BAG ROOM
Each SBX studio has a different bag room map, you’ll get to book your own bag which you’ll stay on for the duration of class
For first timers, we recommend booking a starred bag.
FIRST TIME ARRIVAL
Make sure to arrive 20 minutes before class, this allows plenty of time to get rental gear, find a locker, get set up and stretched out.
Please try and arrive for check-in at least 10 minutes before class and note that bags will be given away promptly at the start of class to waitlist clients. If running late, just call the front desk before the start of class and we’ll be happy to hold your bag for up to 8 minutes after the scheduled class start time. After the 8 minute mark, no one will be able to enter class. Late arrivals exceeding this courtesy becomes disruptive to the instructor and other clients.
REMOVE YOUR JEWELRY AND VALUABLES!
Please make sure all valuables are removed and safely stored in a locker or at home. Shadowbox is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
PRE CLASS DEMO
The instructor will do an informational demo 3 minutes before class starts. Please make sure you’re in the bag room and in a spot where you can see this demo, it will teach you everything you need to know for a successful and fun class!
Wear comfortable clothing and prepare to sweat...A LOT. We encourage everything from tank tops and sports bras to old school grey sweat suits! Make sure to bring supportive sneakers and please note you MUST wear shoes in the bag studio.
BAG ROOM SET-UP
Each client has his/her own bag. Each bag will have a fresh towel and a pouch for water bottle. Please make sure water bottles aren't on the ground during class.
Shadowbox classes are programmed to suit all levels. Take everything at your own speed and make sure to have fun. Our instructors are always available after class if you want to chat or ask any questions. If you want 1-on-1 attention, we recommend booking a PT with the instructor of your choice.
Each class starts with a brisk warm-up, then into shadowboxing where you'll focus on punch technique. After the warm-up and shadowboxing, it's on the bag for 6-7 rounds of guided combos. In between each round is an active rest period, the instructor will lead bodyweight exercises targeting different parts of the body.
BE ON TIME!
Please check in at least 10 minutes before class starts. Please note bag reservations will be released to ‘walk-in’ clients at the start of class.
If you're running late please call the studio, we will hold your bag for up to 8 minutes (so if class starts at 5:30pm, the bag will be held until 5:38pm if the front desk was notified by phone). After the 8 minute grace period, bags will be released to the waitlist. (Flex packages are a great option if you need a bit more flexibility with your reservation schedule)
Need to cancel a class but want to retain the credit? Please call the studio 12 hours prior to your scheduled class. Unfortunately anyone attempting to cancel within a 12 hour window of scheduled class time will forfeit the credit. No exceptions.
In order to drop into a class as a walk-in we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the scheduled class start time. Anyone placed on the waitlist will be informed at start of class whether or not a spot has opened up. *Please note- for those on the waitlist, there is a chance of missing the warm-up.
